Lost my bearings...

I'm pedaling up a small hill and really leaning on the pedals when there's a *crunk* and simultaneously, a pedal seizes. My foot with most of my weight on it slips off and... well I fall, only to be caught by the nose of the saddle.

One time I was starting a pedal on a pedestrian lane across a budy highway... and my entire pedal fell off, broken at the crank arm. ON THE SOLID METAL SIDE!

o_O WTF? Were you starting off from a really high gear or something?

Did you make it across okay?

All of the bikes I've ever had have been stuck in one middle high gear... so yeah... XD

I had to walk my bike to a payphone and have my then-boyfriend pick me up. LOL
