um... given your answer, i'm not sure that you understood the question. at least the way i read it. "bringing back meat" != "purely for sport."

"purely for sport" = "i love hunting and killing things."

which... um... ok.

I have to disagree that that's the wording of the question. Hunting purely for sport does not mean that the meat would not be brought back and the hunter would not eat what he kills. There's no wording here that hunting purely for sport means that the hunter goes out and kills and leaves the prey there. To me, hunting purely for sport means that the hunter enjoys hunting but doesn't have to do so in order to survive.

huh.

then i suppose the question was better-worded than a lot of the people who answered it opined (i read about half of the 810 responses that had accumulated when i clicked through). i also have to say your reading of it appears to be in the minority, but i can see the interpretation.

Perhaps that's because I do know hunters now and I know that they are responsible and good people. Hunters can often be stereotyped as rednecks or idiots, and while there may be some who fit that description, the majority do not.
