Just a meandering thought...

Brought on by the book I just finished, a conversation and my inner-monologue.

No one has the right to judge anyone but themselves. To spin that around, the only judgement of yourself that will ever matter is your own. In the end no one judges you, not even God*. God just holds the mirror I think.

All depends on what you mean by judge. If you mean that no one has the right to decide how to treat you, then that's messed up. I, for instance, intend to go to as much effort as it takes to hang out with y'all at some point in July, but have no contact info for you. If how I treated you mattered to you, then my judgements about you would matter. Since you've always seemed an empathetic, sociable type, I'd guess that there's a few people (say, your wife), that do matter to you. If you'd like to hook up, I'm flying over to LA for most of July and happy to travel down whenever. Mail me at UKnos@hotmail.com.
James, hoping to find a better way of contacting you

this is one of the better quotable philosophical thoughts I've seen in a good long while, whether or not its ambiguity leads some people to misinterpret and argue with it.

I won't concern myself with how "true" it is, rather that it is a deep thought, and open-minded and self-based enough that I personally like it.

It's nice to see a fellow San Diegan expressing such a thing. And btw, I happen to admire your anti-PETA stance... although I despise cruelty in all forms (including the intended/ignored torture of animals), I think PETA is off its rocker and is far too extreme and ridiculous. It's nice to see someone else feeling the same way.

Thank you for the kind words of my ramblings and musings. The "truth" of it is fairly irrelevant, it's the thought and that it causes people to think, even in disagreement that counts.

As for PETA vs. PEPA, I don't advocate cruelty in any form, but I also don't like people tromping on my beliefs without allowing a counter-point. You can believe whatever you want, but you'd better fucking allow me the same courtesy.

I'm not saying PETA is wrong, I'm saying that we're all entitled to have our opinions. That and I'm saying that meat is *GOOD!!!* *grin*

Feel free to join up, this really is intended to be a serious counter-movement!
