I hope all my Christmas-celebrating friends had a super-awesome holiday. As for the rest of you, I hope it sucked. (I kid.) Happy Solstice and belated-Channukah-even-though-it's-just-afringe-holiday-that-got-puffed-up-in-order-to-keep-pace-with-Solstice/Christmas/What-Have-You ( Read more... )

That is the most ridiculous animated card ever, and I am highly amused.

BUT NOT AMUSED ENOUGH TO LET YOU OFF THE HOOK FOR FORGETTING MY HOLIDAY OF CHOICE, KWANZAA! I AM FILLED WITH SMOLDERING GENERIC RAGE! =P

Since when is Channukah a fringe holiday that got puffed up...I thought that the puffed up holiday was Kwanzaa. You forgot to mention by name all those people who celebrate with the Non-Denominational Fairy. Anyways, I'm not going to be around until Friday, but we should attempt a meeting before it's a lost cause.

It's not even mentioned in the Torah. It actually is the least important holiday, and the only reason people think it's a big deal is it's proximity to Christmas. Not that that makes the holiday any less fun - It's a hoot. But the original version of Channukah was much cooler. Instead of gifts, kids got money to donate to charity. That's where the chocolate gelt comes from.

Least, that's what my seventh grade Hebrew school teacher told me.
