The test, if you noticed what you were typing, was composed of very strange sentences. This is because it was testing "digraphs" or two-letter combinations found in words. An example would be "sentenCE" where the C and E are typed by the same typing finger, which is what defines a digraph. He is testing typing speeds over QWERTY and DVORAK keyboards; DVORAK keyboards were designed with digraphs in mind, so there aren't any on the keyboard in that sense, whereas QWERTY was not, and thats why we have them.
