Poor girl, she's lucky to have gotten out of that mess. It's a good thing she didn't panic while you guys were busy rescuing her.

I think she was too tired to panic, and she really couldn't move at all. her legs were going straight down and the mud was thick and heavy.

We will be fencing the spring to protect livestock. I heard some stories about people losing their shoes in this spring, but it never occurred to me that it was life-threatening. I won't leave animals on my Ranch at risk of death from such a place. In fact I woke up last night and was planning what materials would last the longest with no maintenance around the springs.
