I'm glad that Cow #25 is surviving. She looked pretty skinny! I never though that there might be calves, and I'm glad that you brought them in and that they will be all right.
I am surprised at your drought. Other internet friends I have in your country have all had rain. I hope you get some soon, but a nice gentle soaking, not a deluge! I'm glad water is coming from somewhere! I never thought about the uptake from trees.
Even if there is not much feed on the new ground the cows are on, it will be good to have 'fresh' to keep down parasites.
We have a "high pressure ridge" summer weather pattern holding storms off our coast. Ukiah is kind of in the worst place, some southern storms have gotten as close as San Francisco and Santa Rosa (100 and 50 miles away respectively) on the south side, and as close as Willits to the north, about 45 miles to the north. Neither side has had much, but both have had more than twice what Ukiah got in the rain department. Partly because we are so dry the rest of the country is getting way more rain and snow than normal. Sigh.
Good news that's she's feeling feisty enough to head-butt a horse! Also good that her calf is ok as are the other two. I'm glad you'll be fencing that bit in asap...but may thr rains you need be gentle and soaking and not gully-washers.
Wonder how long it'll be before cows routinely have ear tags with GPS to make it easier to track them real time. There's probably already an app for that ;p
