Wow. IT's so cool the way it seems to shift from poetic imagery at first to almost an essay-like plea in the middle back to that great use of metaphor at the end. I really SEE the images you're writing about, and I FEEL what you're expressing. That, my friend, is effective art.

I've been working on monologues (still) and this would make a great one for somebody. It's powerful.

OTOH, if what you're writing about is an actual situation, and you and another are both hurting, I am sorry and hope it works out.
