I think Dee is *just delighted* that Kara et al are in trouble and would have a difficult time hiding that from Lee. She certainly wouldn't hide it from Felix.

Cottle is by far smarter than Lee in a lot of ways but I think because he's focused on medicine, he just doesn't have that well roundedness that lets Lee (and Gaeta) make intuituve leaps, but I think the big difference between Lee and Cottle is that Cottle is much more cynical.

In fairness to Kara, I think (and I have always thought this) that she has the ability to step back from the edge when she wants. This would have been pre Maelstrom Kara so she may very be ok - this might give her time to decompress.

See, now I thought it was obviious that Cottle was saying he could easily cure early stage bone cancer.... I guess I do need a wrap up scene :(

Yeah, this scene had Cottle channeling Gregory House quite a bit. Poor Hoshi though... yeah not much coming back from Cottle cutting up your heart.

Oooh, bone cancer. That's quite the twist.

I still enjoy how this fic points fingers at plot points and calls them out for being too unrealistic to be true. And people acting in the S2 way that makes sense.

Bone cancer was ultimately the only way I could have the amputation *mean something* and as I focused on how Gaeta was using the pojection to manipulate his own issues... something had to explain the amputation.

And yeah, ultimately this fic was basically a great big bitch on how season four was poorly written.
