Part 16!

Ok so at last check, Kara finally gave up the mission and revealed the Raptor (and poor put upon Racetrack) to Thunder Mountain. About six months have passed.

So cool! I love this and it fits better than the patchwork quilt of canon ever did. So, are they the final five cylons, or did you keep Tyrol and the others? Is this something else going on? The cylon god on earth, hee!

Your writing is addictive. I love it! I am so glad you updated so soon after I read the rest. This is the highlight of my day.

They're not Cylons. :)

The Five occur in every cycle. "God" created the cycle where humanity rises and falls but there's always a *chance* that humanity can escape it's fate. That is what the Five represent. On the show, the Five ultimately failed because humanity restarted the cycle. In this fic, they're in a very special circumstance... the cycle has mobius stripped and overlapped. If you'll notice - technically there are Ten, not Five - the dopplegangers come from both sides. The BSG dopples are Gaeta, Tyrol, Six, Dee, and Wally Gray, the Jeremiah dopples are David the Prophet, Dude who Raped Theo, Sarah, Elizabeth, and Devon. BUT - only five are alive and they come from both sides of the fence. So its a unique situation where the Five are actually aware of more than their own cycle.

I knew there was someone, not someone huge but yeah - Jeremiah's dad is Roslin's running mate!

The disappearing act didn't happen, and certainly the Demetrious is not happening. I think after the rescue of Baltar from the temple... things just mellowed out a bit for the fleet. No, I don't think Felix was dating Louis, at least not seriously. I think Kara is spot on in thinking that Felix sees himself as an isolated martyr in his mind while in fact most people kinda got over new caprica and know his story.

So here's the thing. Yeah, Narcho and Louis going to look for Felix is a fun call out... but see, *Kara* has been lost on Earth. Bill is never going leave *Kara* without looking for her. So yeah, someone is going to come looking....

This is very cool - you now have your Five - Felix, Dee (who clearly needs to get to Earth pdq), Tyrol, Sarah, and Devon (who I had forgotten about). You know, it's almost as if the producers of these shows wanted you to cross them :)

I really like your Smith, he seems just as spooky as I remembered with more of a point to his presence. Also, he sort of works like a less creepy version of Leoben in this AU.

The difference between how Felix sees 'the cycle' and how Kara sees it is fascinating. Because once Felix realizes he can break the cycle he's going to want to full guns. Kara, I'm not so sure about. She's making strides, but she still has a bit of a fatalistic streak.

Obviously, the people who are going to steal a raptor to go look for the missing scouts are Lee and Dee :) Are they married in this AU?

Okay, so no raptor stealing. Lee's the pilot, Helo the ECO, Dee's going to insist and get into Adama's face (both of them until she comes), same with Anders. Cally, I don't know - I can see her wanting to get Galen, but at the same time, she's got a baby and I'm not sure she'd be willing to risk orphaning him. I could see it either way. Frankly, I'd rather see a marine go with them.

Well, I kinda want a little redemption for Cally... She's actually the one I see being really insistant on going because as um... frigging stupid as she was, she really did love Tyrol. Also, psst, the baby won't be an orphan because um... Tyrol aint the baby daddy :D

More seriously, I think the "rescue" team is really more of an initial "where do we land and start subjacating these people" team and she might be useful. I also see Adama getting it past the Quorum with "we're sending people who have a real fire to find the scouts!"
