So not only do they have contact with the Federation, thus taking a load of stress off our favourite not-demigod, but it is with THE SISKO himself.
Of the various captains Trek based series on, Sisko is arguably the best to have in charge when, as NASA once put it "the solid biological waste has hit the rotating air movement device" big time.
Since this is NOT just the original DS-9 timeline with colonials added - Gaeta's comments on preparedness did some good - we can't be totally dependent on the relevant episodes to know what is happening now. Worf is with Ben at this point isn't he, Adama will see that as a good character reference.
Trivia: The NASA quote is actually from a description of how the space shuttle toilet worked. The fan - sorry 'rotating air movement device' - was referred to as 'The Slinger' in this context. Trivial Persuit is MY GAME.

I keep coming back to the image of Adama judging Sisko on the basis that he has the loyalty of Worf.
For that matter the whole idea that the Colonials are more like Klingons than regular Federation citizens - mentioned in Going Native - looks interesting with a long bloody war ahead of them. With the losses Starfleet took they will be looking for potential replacements anywhere, Colonials are available if you kinda squint and aren't too fussy about legal fine print, and they have a 'kill them all and let the gods sort it out' attitude.
Felix 'I told you so' Gaeta has an interesting time ahead of him. Sisko outranks him, doesn't he?
