Does Beta Testing a Learning Workbook for Camtasia Studio 6 count as resume worthy if (1)I'm not getting paid (2) I replied to a shoutout from a newsletter to do it? It can still be freelance work, can't it?
You did the work. Nothing says you have to be compensated for the work for it to appear on your resume. That document exists to show your potential employers what you can do by documenting what you have done.
Did you provide real and good input on issues and feature enhancements during the beta period? Or did you just use it. If you did provide a reasonable amount of work, then, yes, mention it if it's relevant to what you're applying for.
