I use the IME at XP. You need to install specific japanese fonts. You can find them using the google search. And then, you install them and use the fonts to type the words up.

Yeah, your icon reminds of this. MUJI's a Japanese brand which has very simple products but has become quite popular within the last 10 years or so.
