Is there a cure for vampirism?
What happened is that Lueali died fighting a kraken and the party went to the only temple in the area that offered true resurrection to get him raised. We weren't really expecting it but what I am thinking happened is that the guy was lawful evil and made em sign a contract that read to THEM as "I am performing true resurrection for 11000 gold" but actually said "I'm totally turning your buddy into a vampire or some shit is that okay?" The guy takes Lueali's body into a back room, locks the fuck out of the door, and "raises" him. The cleric has him sign some papers and sends him on his way. Take note by the way, this is like, early early morning on an overcast day.
The first weird thing is Lueali having sharp pains in his stomach and arm. He returns to the temple after like, an hour, and tells the guy who raised him, who tells him it's a necropic infection or something, and it will heal, don't worry. In the meantime the cleric puts a mark on Lue's right arm (bicepish is how we were miming it, if it matters) and tells him that will stop the pain until it heals. Lueali is kind of suspicious of the guy but the pain isn't there anymore so he leaves with his friends again, they go back to the inn. I don't even remember exactly what started it, I think it was someone seeing Lue's reflection barely visible in a mirror, anyway they end up in someone's room with Lueali explaining what is going on with his arm etc. Somewhere along the line, Flora, the neutral good cleric in the party, tries to heal him. Naturally, TERRIBLE BURNING PAIN and he screams and Flora is like wtf. Everyone starts talking all at once and in there somewhere Flora asks if she can try something else and Lue, who is panicking a little, is like "yes whatever Flora." She tries to turn him experimentally and he blacks out. When he wakes up Flora is on the floor with huge bloody gashes across her face and Lue is standing with blood all over his hand. Eeeeeveryone freaks out. Lightning Tiger (a little kid who follows the party, he's a rogue 2/fighter 2/wizard 2) is sprinkling holy water on Lueali, and he just gets up and storms out saying he is going to go kill the temple guy.
On the way there (everyone chased him) Khae (party rogue) tries to grapple him. Lueali not only breaks the grapple but THROWS Khae like ten feet. Keep in mind that Lue is a sorcerer with 8 strength. D: He's shouting at everyone to stay back, and OH YES the sun is out now, and it burns him terribly so he has his hood up. He bursts through the temple door and the guy who raised him is standing waiting for him in full freaking plate armour with a morningstar. Lueali is like "that was NOT true resurrection!" The guy holds up his hand and cuts it with a blade so blood goes all down his arm and Lueali thankfully makes his will save. He is like "you have ten seconds to fix this before I lightning bolt you" and the guy REBUKES HIM. So now my poor elf sorcerer is bowing on the floor terrified of this jerk and the rest of the party catches up at this point. They are like, "what did you do to him?!" and the guy does something on them where they all get paralyzed and lose a shitload of strength. Then the guy sets the temple on fire and leaves, locking them inside. Lueali breaks out of the rebuke, panicks over to the door, and tries to break it down. What he does is rip it out of the freaking wall and throw it. Again, guys, 8 STR. He grabs Lightning Tiger (who's nearest) to get him out of the burning building, but when he grabs him he gets the urge to attack him but thankfully makes his will save again. He gets Lightning Tiger out and runs around the town shouting that the temple is burning, omg my friends, halp me etc. People come and help rescue everyone and Lueali sneaks into the back to see if he can find their 11k, the contract, anything. He gets a holy symbol but on his way out the ceiling collapses and he's stuck. He's feeling kind of crazy because he just ripped a door out of the wall, so he takes a flying leap at the burning wreckage intending to smash through it, but what he does instead is CLIMB OVER THE WALL like freaking SPIDERMAN.
Yeah, we haven't really played since that. In addition to all that crap, he's not casting a shadow either. Tom just gave me my updated stats and I have all the vampire weaknesses and crazy stuff and an ECL too. D: Poor Lue!
Anyway, other than killing him and paying for yet another raise dead spell, is there a way to fix this?
