Has anyone been watching "A Game of Thrones"? I'm HBOless right now, but that might need to change. It's tempting...

Yes! So far I think it's decent, though there's only been one ep.

Good to hear. I can't imagine of a series with more to live up to out of the gate. What do you think of the casting?

Some of it is inspired--Peter Dinklage as Tyrion and Maisie Williams as Arya in particular. I think Michelle Fairley looks all wrong for Catelyn, though. They aged Catelyn up to match Sean Bean's Ned, and I think that's a good move as far as Ned/Catelyn is concerned, but there are older actresses who look more beautiful and aristocratic. Also, the kid playing Jon Snow looks vacant most of the time, as does Emilia Clarke playing Dany (though I guess that could be taken for trauma).

The kid playing Joffrey is also inspired--he looks like a repulsive little creep.

Thanks for your thoughts -- it's tough to get a sense of character just from photos. Here's hoping the series does the book justice.

I have. I liked it and I think there's a lot of potential. The fantasy world is very cool!
