It was summer in the Cretaceous and a struggle to keep cool. Too hot to do anything in the day and too dangerous to do anything at night, they gathered berries and greens for breakfast. They buried tubers in the embers of their cook fire, and then they attempted to sleep during the heat of the day. Late afternoon they would make their way to the waterfall to cool off in the water and empty and reset their traps. In the slightly cooler evening, they would eat their catch and tubers, repair their traps and spear points and rest again.
