but your life is what you choose to make it
opportunity exists if and only if you take it
freedom lost when man decides to forsake it
society's cage was meant for your to break it

most people push blindingly along without reason
for sometimes originality is denounced as treason
but as life, man's luck comes in and out of season
to the clever, shaping fate is a matter of cohesion

we all cannot be artists, that gift is for select few
but if one watches his experiences slowly accrue
a discovery can be seen, once hidden from view
that even the bad can prove to be beneficial too

freedom comes not from escape, not from running away
neither doth it arise from surrender, from heart's betray
the real secret to keeping mind sound is to enter the fray
you learn from and enjoy each dilemma- to seize the day

*clap.... clap.... clap....*

I just feel like all the walls are closing in on me
cause I don't like how society works

Let me explain
how I see it:
Take the Constitution for example
it has lasted for 200 years
been amended only 29 times
but it is constantly being interpreted
we keep getting narrower
and stricter in our views of it
we keep trying to find
the "dividing line"
of right and wrong

but there is no dividing line

we think there is
only black and white
but everything is gray
and we keep digging
to find where white turns to black
in a sea of gray
eventually, something will snap,
something will break
because we're trying to find
something that isn't there
something we think is so important...

and what happens when that delicate balance of gray snaps?
