Digital Camera Shopping

Man, I thought I'd NEVER go digital camera shopping b/c I cannot justify spending $500-$600 on a freaking camera. BUT,now i've found a great site newegg.com (ships to US free - think Michelle) and i can get similar cameras there for $100 CDN cheaper at least!!

So here are the two 4MP cameras i'm debating on:

yeah only problem with ordering from US is that i dont know how the warranty works. So is it worth paying the extra $150 CDN to buy from a CDN store like future shop?? doesnt seem like it...how often do dig cameras really need to be fixed anyways?

get your memory card from the states... OR costco! the costco in canada sells it for about the same as the states anyway. i paid about $42 US for my 256MB card.

my canon (the same one you're looking at) ALSO has manual focus!!!!!!!!

and there is a huge time lag b/w the two shutter speeds. after having my canon for a month or so, i used my uncle's cybershot to take pix for him and the shutter really pissed me off. also, the flash has to recharge everytime you take a pic... meaning you can't take pictures too close together (time-wise).

the lcd REALLY sucks ass too... again, i only noticed when i used my uncle's cybershot after having my canon for a while.

i think it's worth the $80

Thanks for the advice..I ended up getting the Nikon 4200 from the US and this saved me over $100 Canadian (as opposed to buying it from Henry's here). Haven't had a chance to use it much as I didn't want to take it camping with me this weekend..especially in an 'altered' state in the woods..lol...

hahah! mark don't you know that pictures are BETTER and FUNNIER when taken in that "altered" state? ;)
