But you will agree that there is a definite distinction between songs that "kick ass" and songs that are "badass"?

I agree with you on most of those. But the only badass Beta Band song is, "It's over". Those two are kickass, but not badass. As Steph points out, there is a definite distinction. I'm not familiar with the NIN song, but I'll download it to make sure. I imagine nearly all NIN songs are badass, though.

PS: help me stop will's wedding. Or at least help me plan the bachelor party.

If you ask me, as far as NIN, it begins and ends with "Just Like You Imagined". Do you have and Nirvana? Or "Straight Out of Line" by Godsmack (yeah, I know I'm probably the only one who likes Godsmack, but that song is pretty badass if you can get past the cheesy lyrics) -- just a suggestion.

I don't think you can stop it, I actually think it's inevitable in some realm that I couldn't even begin to understand, much less explain.
