I think I have a fractured rib. I have an intense sore spot on the non-heart side of my upper chest. Whenever I breathe deeply it is painful. Even when I lie on my side or do certain body movements it's painful. According to the internet those are symptoms of a fractured rib. The only problem is I have no idea how it happened. it could be a gas bubble! is it at heart height or a little lower?

yikes! a gas bubble? it is pretty high. I would say it's even with my arm pit, about two inches up and center from my right nipple.

oh, c'mon! that is horrible. I hope it is not that. Thank God I'm not a hypochondriac. If you had told my brother this he would obsess over your diagnosis for years.

i just got my emt certification and there's no way it's pneumothorax. you would have severe trouble breathing and need an ambulance.

Gene, I'm no chest-xray, but yes, you broke a rib playing football. Even a geologist could tell you that.
