Art Post

Jan 19, 2007 00:20

On a happier note, here's some thing that I did a while ago and haven't had time to post. I thought it was about time that I posted some art up.

The style is more realistic than I usually tend to draw, but I like the way it turned out, despite the crappy ink pen.

By the way, does anyone knows how to do line art properly? I did this with an ink pen ( Read more... )

lol. thx maria, that's really sweet of you.

I still wish I could write beautiful poems like you do though. My talent for writing anything remotely close to poetry or anything that rhymes is non-existent, hehe.

Dude, that looks awesome! I don't see any ink-blotchiness at all!! *Stares at the prettiness*

Erm, if you really want to get rid of blotchiness (which I cannot see, by the way), maybe you should use Photoshop to edit out the problems? Do you have Photoshop or any other art programs?

Or you could get a better pen. :P I use Sakura Pigma Micron 02, 03, 05, and 08.

Lol. Thanks alot, Lucy. I'm glad you like it.

The picture was compressed so it doesn't show, and I did fix the major blotches with photoshop. The problem I'm having is the slight ragidness the lineart seems to have. There's a scratchy quality to it somehow and I was wondering if that could be fixed at all with a computer.

Don't really know how to make the scratchy lines go away with photoshop. Do you zoom in really big and do it manually, or is there a filter you can apply?

Yup. I should try that too. Sakura Pigma, you say? Definitely will try it.

Thanks so much for the help, hon. You sure seem to know alot about art!

Actually, not really. ^^; I have minimal formal education in the area, save some classes for middle school and such. Pretty much all my art knowledge comes from reading all the tutorials I can find on the internet, lol.

Speaking of tutorials, here's a good lineart tutorial I found on devArt. It talks about pen tools on Photoshop (which is a pain to work with, by the way), and it helped me do lineart on the computer. It might help you, too. :3

Good luck!

Oh I really like this! Especially the way her hair seems to be blowing -- there's motion in it.

Yay! Mission accomplished. That was the effect I was going for and I wasn't sure if it worked. This piece took absurdly longer than I usually take to draw anything.

Mostly because I'm out of practice and because this is new territory. I've always been a big fan of fringe art.

Anywayz, thx for the feedback sophiax! *luvs you*

MANDY!

*GLOMP*

Thx for the comment! I'm glad you liked the hair. It's the part I was feeling most insecure about.

How come I don't see more amazing art coming from you?

I'll get drawing when you crank out more of those wonderful minerva/tom fics that I'm seriously addicted to, my dear. Deal?

I'm still an amateur in art right now, but given time, I want to branch out from portraits and do some serious drawing. So be prepared for some fanart coming your way, even if it's in the far far future, given my talents for procrastination. hehe.

*lots of love*

I'm glad you liked it. And nothing makes me happier than to hear someone say that the art looks alive. It's the highest praise, in my opinion.

So thx alot!
