at Mocca this weekend Gary Panter was talking about how when we pull out of iraq all those robot drone air planes are just going to come back here and watch us, and how when the robot up rising comes the robots won't have metal skulls but they'll look like something innocent and stylish like a tennis shoe.

i was thinking about this, too.

the robots we presently have look like helpful little scientific robots, but they're armed with automatic weapons that appear as like a simple hole.

they will also have EMP shielding so you couldn't - say - use a modified microwave oven to fry their circuits. pretty much only high grade military weapons would be able to take them out, i guess.

kind of like nuclear weapons, all the countries are going to want them just to keep robots from other countries away. and then, of course, someone will find a way to control all of them, if that method isn't built in already.
