I told E that I am going to give up drinking soda for the week. He seems to think I can't do it. I asked him if he wanted to bet. At first he didn't, but I convinced him. I find challenges more fun if there is something up for grabs

Last year, I gave up soda for lent (40 days/nights) and it nearly killed me! Haha! Truthfully though, by the end of the 40 days, I wasn't even thinking about it anymore.
I did about 2 and a half weeks this summer. I try to still only have one 12 pack in the house at any given time. I've discovered Diet Crystal Light, which doesn't actually taste like a diet drink, so that helps.
I buy the Crystal Light Lemonade packs and have been making pitchers of that. I also buy the little ones you put in individual bottles of water for when I go to the gym.
I hardly ever drink soda - maybe one a week if that - but since I gave up coffee last week, I have been CRAVING soda! so now I am having about 1/2 can of the Coke Zero a day to help with the caffeine headaches. :(
what kind of soda do you drink normally? Diet or regular?
And I am the same way. if I have a bet about something, or someone says I can't do something, I am totally motivated.
I grew up drinking Pepsi. My Dad is a big Pepsi drinker so we always had it in the house.
E is a Coke drinker. When we go grocery shopping, I'd usually get a 2-liter of whatever I was craving that week whether it be Cherry Coke, Orange Soda, Dr. Pepper. I drink them all. I had been buying Diet sodas for a little while, but in the long run they really aren't good for you. So I figured I'd drink regular sodas and just not as much.
I'd normally have 1 or 2 glasses a day, but I'm not a coffee drinker. So, you and I are kind of reversed in that sense. LOL But thankfully I haven't been craving soda this week. I put my mind to it and I'm doing it. :)
For my caffiene fix, I drink an iced tea from dunkin donuts in the afternoons. I grab one on my way home from the gym and running errands. It seems to be working. :)
I guess both regular and diet sodas aren't good for you in the long run...be it the sugar substitutes, or additives, or the calories, or the sugar content. Such a shame. Everything in moderation, I guess!
True. Neither type of soda is good for you in the long run. I'm more fearful of diet sodas because of how they have to alter them to make them "diet friendly".

I've given it up here and there before but never long-term. That's why I'm starting with just a week. LOL

They say it takes at least 21 days to form a new habit. So you were well past that :)
Thanks!
