Health Care Reform

Health care reform really isn't about Republican vs. Democrat; it's about conservative vs. liberal. And while my own views are so far left you need a telescope to see them from center, I'd be happier about a one-sided, staunchly conservative overhaul than any attempts at compromise between the warring ideals. The worst thing is that the people trying to craft these laws won't even give up their insurance for it.

Perhaps that should be the bellweather. If you won't take it, neither should I.

Your absolutely correct, except I would add one more stratification

Conservative - make market reforms to force competition, including the removal of insurance anti-trust, so there is real competition.

Liberal - Take over the entire medical insurance system, since a public option would kill the competition. Government plan doesn't need to make a profit and can and will run in to the red with the tax payers as their financial safety net. Private insurers will not be able to compete.

Activist - Government should take over the entire medical industry, and at the least provide and control all income to the private hosptials, or at the worst take over the hospitals entirely and go to a full social medicine solution.
