A/N: I’ve never written for this pairing before, so I hope you enjoy! Writing this was sweet reprieve from the stress of my uni finals. :)

“Luna dear, so good to see you,” Molly Weasley opened her arms to hug the newest member of the Weasley clan.

Luna placed the pile of parcels she was carrying down on the kitchen table before leaning into the embrace. “Hello, Molly.”

“Hey Mum,” Ron went in next, and the two of the moved down the line of excited Weasleys already at The Burrow for the holidays.

“I’m so glad you made it safely; we were worried, what with the snowy weather lately and-”

Arthur put a hand on his wife’s shoulder, “We’re very glad you’re here. How’s your father doing, Luna?”

“Oh he’s wonderful,” Luna beamed. “Right now he’s in Japan tracking down a bearded darglemite.”

Molly was suddenly very deeply engrossed in finishing the preparations for dinner, and looked like she was trying very hard not to say what she thought about bearded darglemites.

“C’mon,” Ron put an arm around Luna’s shoulder, “we can go upstairs for a bit.”

“Alright.”

-----------------------------

“You okay?” Ron turned to look at Luna sitting on his childhood bed. “I just - I know they can be a lot sometimes, is all.”

“Yes . . .” Luna replied, contemplatively.

“You didn’t really get to spend a lot of time with them before we got married and Mum, well sometimes she’s just-”

“Ron,” Luna pulled him down onto the bed with her. “Your family is wonderful.”

“Yeah. They are, aren’t they?”

Lune rested her head on Ron’s shoulder, “They are.” After a moment she added, “Did you know this room is a nargle breeding ground?”

“No, uh, I didn’t,” Ron looked around apprehensively.

“It’s alright, I know potion that keeps them away nicely.”

“That potions mastery comes in awfully handy doesn’t it?’

Luna laughed, “I told you not all potions masters were like Professor Snape.”

“Yeah, yeah, you were right. You’re right about everything, love,” Ron placed a gentle kiss on her forehead.

“My mum was an accomplished potions mistress too, you know.”

“Yeah, you told me,” Ron wrapped his arms around Luna and held her to his chest.

“She used to brew a special potion for me on Christmas morning, when I was little. It’s smoke changed colors and danced through the house.”

“You should brew it for us, this Christmas.”

“Perhaps,” Luna turned to face Ron. “But I think I might want to save it for our child, you know? To see the excitement on their little face the first time I make it.”

“Yeah, of course. If that’s what you want,” Ron smiled. “I’m here to support you, love.”

“Thanks,” Luna smile back. “Next Christmas, then,” she sighed, leaning back into Ron.

He laughed, “Feeling lucky, huh? When that happens is just down to nature, isn’t it?”

“Well yes, of course,” Luna rolled her eyes and sat up. “But nature’s already decided, dear. We’re going to be parents next Christmas.”

“Really?” Ron’s eyes went wide.

“Yes,” Luna placed a kiss on Ron’s stunned mouth. “You are happy, aren’t you?”

He wrapped Luna in a tight hug, “So incredibly happy. Can we tell Mum? I mean, we don’t have to if you’re not ready - I just know she’ll be so excited.”

“I’d love to,” Luna smiled, shyly. “I think that would be a perfect Christmas gift for all of us.”
