Scorpius was a ball of mixed emotions. He was happy. Excited. Guilty. Nervous. Ecstatic. Apprehensive. Remorseful. He was pacing anxiously outside of Hermione’s room at St. Mungo’s and waiting for the go ahead from the healer to be by her side.
He did feel a bit remorseful at how they came to be together, but if the end result resulted in him being with Hermione, then he would do it all over again. Although their happiness was found at the expense of others, he only regretted the pain that he put others through. Rose no longer talked to him and blamed him for breaking up his family. But how do you tell your best friend that you’d fallen in love with her mother?
Scorpius saw Hermione frequently for months on end for a collaborative project between the Ministry and Malfoy Inc. Previously, he had greatly admired her accomplishments, her friendly demeanour, and her sense of justice. However in time, their relationship changed. Lines were crossed and futures were forever changed. He couldn’t remember the exact moment he started to feel differently towards her, but the feelings had built up to a point that it was just there.
They both knew it was wrong, but they couldn’t stay away from each other. They met on the sly at his flat. His office. Her office. Basically, anywhere that they could have privacy for a reasonable amount of time. Which usually lasted hours on end.
The most awkward had to be when her husband almost walked in on them when he came by spontaneously to visit her at her office. It was a good thing they remembered the Silencing and Locking Charms. Otherwise, Ron would have walked in on him fucking his wife. He remembered that day vividly. Hermione had gotten even more excited when she’d realized Ron was outside waiting for her, while she was inside screwing Scorpius. Meeting Ron after that vigorous workout was difficult. He couldn’t keep the smirk off his face when he exited her office and walked by him.
Ron had taken the news of Hermione’s pregnancy joyously until she had told him that the child wasn’t his but Scorpius’ and had wanted a divorce. He had shown up at his flat looking for a fight and screaming obscenities at him. However, he had taken the separation and subsequent divorce even harder, spiralling into becoming an alcoholic. Scorpius would always feel remorseful towards what Ron had become.
The healer appeared and indicated that he could now enter Hermione’s room. It was time for his son was to come into the world.

Hermione felt remorse and guilt for hurting her family. Her husband and family.
She would always feel remorse for hurting them and not divorcing Ron sooner. Ron was first and foremost her best friend before he had ever become her husband. It had quickly become an entangled mess and her children may never forgive her. In fact, Rose blamed both her and Scorpius for breaking up her family and what happened to Ron afterwards.
Nevertheless, she was happy. She had never meant to be anything but professional with Scorpius. Instead, she found herself inexplicably drawn to him, like a moth to a flame. The first time they had fucked was in a broom closet at the Ministry. He had followed her in and taken her against the wall. She had never felt so relaxed afterwards. It had been awhile since Ron had touched her and she felt like it was her first time all over again.
Her most awkward and embarrassing moment was when Draco came into Scorpius’ office without knocking. Needless to say, they were working quite productively and vigorously--just not on the collaborate project. She was bent over his desk and had Scorpius fucking her like there was no tomorrow. She would never forget Draco’s facial expression. It was simply priceless.
Scorpius didn’t bother to stop and blatantly told his father that he was busy at the moment. Draco didn’t say anything and she was rather surprised when Draco didn’t turn tail and walk out of Scorpius’ office. Instead, he quickly shut the door after his initial shock wore off, and sat down on the couch to wait and watched them openly. She had never been so embarrassed and mortified, yet electrified with excitement. Draco’s gaze never wavered from them.
She was positive that their child was conceived on that day and moment.
As Scorpius sat beside her bedside holding their son in his arms, she smiled a happy and bittersweet smile. She loves him and he loves her. And they love their son. Nothing will change that.
