One of the areas where the Sexual Revolution overlapped what was then called Women's Liberation is in the idea that it should be okay for a woman to say what she wants and take the initiative in getting it, in courtship and romance as in all other areas of life, instead of waiting around for the guy to make the first move. Logically this would result in feminist-minded women being more likely to have lovers than more traditional types.
However, feminism is also correlated with college education and thus with earning power, and economic security is known to be a strong predictor of happiness in marriage and other romantic endeavors. Didn't see any mention of whether the study took that into account.
