Update on fish tank

I've gone through about 2 skoals of cardinal tetras. First was a bad batch from the fish store. Half of second group died after a water change. The tap water was too alkaline causing a sudden ph dive. The ph dive cost me a siamese algae eater and 3 porkchop rasboras too. The rasboras are hardy so when a few of them dropped, I knew something
