wow ur great man... =P i thought you really captured my "essence" pretty well to be honest. i'd thought most people just see me in their mental images as a sort of silly, grinning person. i'm a little surprised you know that other side of me and expressed it... heh mildly pleasantly surprised. =)
oh, and i wanted to be the first to say this: siok's expression = WIN.
(Incidentally, I have to do some writing involving Ukitake, Shunsui, Nanao, and hair. After looking at that "candy" picture, Ukitake is going to have to have his hair braided. No ifs or buts.)
"Wu Zixu is *hot*" - there's a phrase I thought wouldn't see the light of day. (OMG the eyes and the pout! Sun Wu is smokin' as well, but that's another AU story.)
IIRC historically WZX's hair was supposed to have turned white overnight at the news of his father's and brother's executions, after which he fled to Wu and was welcomed by Prince Guang (the future Helu) with *ahem* open arms, becoming his adviser at the winsome age of 30 or thereabouts, as flemmings speculated in a thread which alas, I cannot now find.
Upon re-reading WZX's Chinese wiki article, have found that I made a mistake: his hair didn't turn white overnight at the bad news about his family, it was apparently due to his anguish at being trapped in Chen while being pursued by Chu soldiers - this then enabled him to disguise himself and flee to Wu, since none of the enemy were aware of the change in his appearance. The article also claims that a man who looked like him (with black hair) created a disturbance to allow WZX to escape, though for once it seems to have been someone else's idea.

My, Woozie Xu was quite the bishie in youth. No wonder Helu fell for him. (So he didn't go grey, he always was grey!)
I *think* there's a folklore that says dragon sexes can be differentiated by their horns, but I can't tell if it's a complete hallucination or what.
(snags) My fave fandom person, Ben Trovato. Branchy for females then?
Love the illo for Twin Souls.
