? If that's Kaname's hair you've given Gou Jian in #2 I think it looks just great. Better even than the more natural #1.

And the eyes! You have the eyes down perfectly!

It's just a generic anime-ish flippy hair. I think it looks weird, but glad you like it.

OK, so #1 is the anime flippish hair and #2 is historically accurate Gou Jian hair, and not dredded braids? I still like them both. And the oh-so-characteristic lines of Uncle Ming's face actually show better in the flippy hair one.

The eyes! as everyone else has said. Gou Jian's expression in those few strokes.

Personally I prefer the second one, mainly for the hair and the texture of his clothes.
