The Mill was built around 1860 and its principal purpose was to grind corn by water power. A holding pond was dug to the East of the Mill feeding an underground tunnel 4 meters deep to a second pond in the valley to the West with a semi-subterranean wheelhouse. Inside a water wheel, constructed in Wadebridge, powered a 50mm diameter steel shaft, which routed back to the Mill, in turn driving a belt and pulley arrangement to the Mill equipment. The ponds remain but the wheelhouse has unfortunately collapsed and is inaccessible on adjacent farmland. The Mill was latterly part of a farm unit until the late 1980’s
