I'm reading The Kite Runner right now. It's pretty brutal, but very good. It definitely cuts to the core of you. I recommend it. Speaking of recommendations, I also recommend Brave New World (Deep, logical, though-provoking) and
Cold Mountain (Beautifully written, honest, incredible characters)...
