Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
...is fucking epic.

The first movie was okay. A nice family flick.
The second move was awesome; easily the most fun movie of 2006 (the best being of course V for Vendetta).
I love that they went with a much darker direction for this third one. Even though it had more than it's fair share of fight scenes and wacky hijinks, I felt it was more character driven. All the backstabbings, betrayals, and alliances of convenience, especially in the first half of the movie, made my head whirl at times, but the second half was solid. The ending was perfect. I've acquired a taste for the bittersweet. As usual, I was the only one in the theater to wait for the final scene after the credits, but it was worth it. When I get back home if it's still showing I want to see it again.
