so a negative point of Diru's new album.  The tempo amongst a great deal of the songs is static...i don't know if everyone considers this a bad point, but i like it when an album progresses fluidly from track to track - evoking a certain emotional response or something equally meaningful.  the best transition by far is from track 1, conceived ( Read more... )

Ran into your LJ through the Marrow of a Bone page ^_~ hope you don't mind the lil intrusion.

But yeah, I agree 100% on this. Well, the slow song bit I don't have as much issue with... it's the static- same level of emotion through the album. It's not as experimental nor does it show much risk taking. Yeah, I suppose the entire album is a "risk" because it's so radically different, but at the same time, if there weren't a pause between songs, one would be liable to think the songs are all the same!

...i'm still confused how you found my post...i guess running a search...

anyway, yes the slow songs are more or less on the same theme as the whole album. i think all of the songs have their moments, and the slower tracks especially shine, but their order is meh.

Lol on the Marrow of a Bone page, you left a comment on the board, and on there you posted your URL. I was bored, so I clicked and scrolled down your LJ and found this post XD

The order of the tracks really suck, unfortunatly :( I actually found out that I seem to enjoy it better if I play the album in the reverse order than the original intent. Seems more... I don't know... it just flows better, imo.
