luckily, i didn't have to get tested. taking the much more casual, much more mom-and-pop-owned job means that i could smoke my little self silly, which was nice.

PS I suggest you move to New York. I'm working this angle on Diana, too. You should move to NYC and get a job as a proofreader, assistant editor, or a fluffer. har! Seriously, though, at least when you're "making it" in NYC you have a greater sense of accomplishment. Oh, and have you tried getting work at the Reg? I have a few connections there due to my past as a library assistant, if you'd like me to see what I can do...it's actually a pretty great place to work. But you probably have heard that already. Oh, and another piece of advice, no matter how much they promise you, AVOID THE SMART MUSEUM!

no, i haven't worked at the reg before (though i have heard it's a great place to work). you worked there? when? nyc is tantalizing and alluring (as are you) but i feel like i need to regain my balance before i make any big moves. (and, dorky as it sounds, i feel like having at least a full years experience on my resume will make the next job easier). but soon as my "performance evaluation" is over, i'll come out to ny to visit.
