QUESTION

an actual (kinda) useful question:

How do you guys watch your region 2 Japanese DVDs on your PC?

Do you have or know of some type of nice region-killing software (preferaly freeware) that actually works?
(Or do you go ahead and just use a switch time and switch your DVD drive region?)

ETA: Why has no one told me about the greatness of VLC before? XD

anytime!! You can use VLC for pretty much anything, because you don't need extra codecs. I still like to use WMP whenever I can, though xD

I have a region thingy thing *___*;....*facepalm*...I don't have it at work though T__T;...I would upload it for you if i did...Though~...if my friend gets home soon i can grab off her xD;

good luck...XD; never heard good things from friends about VLC...then again that was some of the previous version o_O;

VLC player is okay.... I'm not sure which version I have, but it gives me random problems. How are you using your version? Are you loading the DVD with DVD (menus) or just DVD? and when you do it is it jerky at all?

I have version0.8.6c... what kind of problems? I've only tried it with one DVD but it loads with the menus, and isn't jerky.

huh. Weird. LOL What DVD are you watching? what region is it? I updated the version of VLC player, but it still does the same thing. I guess the menu moves slightly more smoothly than it did before, but the music is still spastic and so the whole video is spastic.. which defeats the point of watching a music video or a concert *sigh*

The NEWS DVD, Region 2. I haven't tried it out with other region DVDs yet though.
