we got our christmas tree on saturday, at target. we comparison shopped at target, wegmans, and wal mart. i have realized that wal mart is a really dark and depressing place, no matter which one i go to. it's always full of pissed-off employees and rather desperate looking customers, always trying to snatch the last of this or that thing off the ( Read more... )

i got my tree at target last year, too! i think ours is taller (taller than me and i'm 5'2) but it's assembled in two or three pieces. loves it.

hehe. it's aweeeeesome. which one did you get? we wanted tall and massive but unfortunately we are in a limited size sort of place (apartment) and so we got a conservative tree. we'll get a big one sooner or later.

i don't remember which one it is. it's in storage right now because we aren't using it this year (moving and stuff) but it's pretty nice. you have to make sure to fan out the (wire) branches or it can get charlie brownish but once you put all the decorations on it's fine. i think we only spent like $20 on it because it was on sale.

Our tree also came from Target! A couple years ago. It's the same size as yours, and the lights are built into the tree. AWESOME. Assembling the tree took us twenty minutes including decorations, versus several hours with a traditional tree assembly. :)

I don't think it matters if your decorations are tacky or shiny or whatever -- as long as you like them.

the one in the photos that you and shishiza posted? i really loved those... though it looks a lot bigger, actually. i think i just didn't notice the stand as much. is your tree all white bulbs, then, or was the photo manipulated somewhat?

ours took about 5 minutes to assemble and then we draped some garland over it... we still haven't found any ornaments.

and yeah, i don't think it matters either. i just know some people are very opinionated about which looks better. i think whatever makes you happy is the best option to go with.

It's sitting on a table that's about three feet tall, too, so it hits the ceiling. ^_^

The bulbs in our tree are white. :)
