Lol! It was a good movie. Although I drove hubby nuts whispering at him about all the engineering inaccuracies. "And now we are going to manufacture this totally new design. It will be ready in 5 hours." WTF NO! Gah!

well maybe he's so rich that he has a really good C&C machine and the robots took care of everything. i liked the fire-extinguisher robot a lot. that was hilarious.

Even still, those have to have tool paths programed, and the time required is material dependent. AND you have ALL those different parts. 5 hours is laughable. (It makes the my inner MechE cry though).

It was a very fun movie though and the fire extinguisher robot was ADORABLE.

It's kinda funny how the totally futuristic energy source, I have no problem suspending disbelief. But C&Cing parts in 5 hours, that sets off alarm bells. : D

Well, think of it this way--he's advanced robotics by leaps and bounds, he has most likely found a way to have robots / machinery do things like that. They never really reveal what time period it is, and even though it's not super-futuristic it still is advanced beyond most peoples' technology. I don't worry about things like that, I guess, and I was so absorbed in the movie that I didn't care. Maybe if it was my profession I might, but probably not. Yeah, the energy source was neat. I liked the characters and the plot, and I had no background knowledge of the comics so nothing bothered me that way either. So much more interesting than Spiderman, Superman, etc. to me. (The only superhero movie series I prefer is Batman.)
