I haven't managed to read all those stories without crying some happy tears. To hear their stories just fills me with joy, that were finally able to realise their dream.

I hope the same happens for all of the states soon.

i understand--i teared up too. it's not like anyone's love or commitment is any less, it's just that they weren't allowed to marry for so long... and it's so wonderful that they can finally.

i hope so, too.

It's very exciting. Our friends can get married in our state and it's great for those who want to partake.

There are some who definitely will be getting hitched, but most people I know leave marriage to the breeders. ;)

Eh, that's nothin'. We've been doing this here in Boston for the past four years already!

Of course everything's more important if it's in California :P

I know...it just takes west coast people a long time to catch on to obvious concepts, I guess.

Well, it is still the Wild West out here, after all....

:)

What's the rest of the East Coast's excuse, I wonder?

The one thing that kills me the most is the number of people I know who have gotten married for reasons other than wanting to be married. I know people who have gotten married so they can fuck, people who have gotten married because they thought it would give them more in grant/free money for school, people who have gotten married to get their partners benefits from work, people who have gotten married so their partner could move to the U.S. to be with them.

And most of those people knew each other less than 6 months and are now separated or divorced. And yet, somehow, two 90 year old women who have been together for 50+ years threatens the sanctity of marriage. Boo. I think everyone should just boycott marriage in an attempt to show how little people value it.
