We awoke Thursday morning to a wet bedroom floor. The water heater had given up on us and decided to just let it all hang out.
After getting the water heater replaced (Thanks to Mr. McCarthy and Frank), we notified the insurance company, and they sent Service Master out to survey the damages.
After ripping up the carpeting in the bedrooms on either side of the water heater, they attacked the Pergo floor next. It all had to come out.
The damage in the pictures, however was not from the water heater, but from pre-existing water damage.
The bright side to all of this is that we will be getting a new floor and carpeting from the insurance company. Thank you to Indiana Insurance.
The down side is that we had just started painting the inside and that will be mostly on hold until the floor and carpeting get installed.
The other bright side is that hopefully this will help us on our re-financing plans.
