I'm a space nut. Amateur space nut of course. I'm a HUGE Star Trek geek. I want binoculars and a telescope and star maps and all that jazz.
Personally, I love the moon.
Saturn is beautiful. The rings - made up mostly of ice and rock, I believe.
It's just mind-boggling... that there are planets out there... and that the stars we see are really echoes of stars that died hundreds of years ago.
The Parseid meteor shower was a couple of months ago (or round about that long) - we wanted to go watch it but we couldn't find a good viewing spot in the city or on the outskirts. I couldn't even see stars that night. I'm only just able to see stars out of my apartment window now as the weather is cooling down.
Space and stars and the moon - just put it all into perspective for me.
