How's My Driving?

This is a crit post. Here you can let me know how you think I'm doing with any one of my characters (Emil, Regal, Arumat, Richard and Jack), or if you have a plot suggestion, you can leave that here too!

As someone who's been defending your characterization of Emil for some time now, it really seems that in the past few months things have just been going downhill.

His current plot is a huge part of that. Having him get that sick seems like it's taking things a bit too far. Also the fact that his housemates haven't noticed how ill he is, and that he doesn't want them to know is also a bit silly. Anon is fully aware that this is not your fault and the fault of the muns of Tenebrae and Richter for not having them be active, but I am sorry to say that it is hurting Emil extremely badly and his plot as well.

It seems deliberately attention-whorey on Emil's account. He does not feel that he is growing at all. It might be better for him to at this point experience life in the actual game. There is so much more to the character that feels like it can be defined better. He really does not feel complete and that he is still heading in an OC-like direction. Very quickly. It is hard to hear his voice.

Yeah, I was kind of afraid of that... I assure you, it wasn't meant to be attention-whorey at all, merely a consequence of Emil neglecting his own health in favor of Richter and Tenebrae's well-being. I was trying to avoid having him be all "LOL I'M FINE" when, given the situation, he probably wouldn't have been. I might've gone too far with it, though, that I agree ( ... )

Even if he may try to cover it up at first, it's getting past the unrealistic point for him, I hope you can find a way to fix that somehow. He is making it difficult to tag and keep threads going.

I meant to take that line out of there, but it was along the lines of experiencing a canon-update so he gets a dose of maturity somehow.

Another thing you need to realize by Ratatosk is that even though he comes out at "frustrating" moments, that is not all that there is to him. Ratatosk is his own person, kind of just like how Emil is. So while it seems that he only comes out at certain points, there's also an entire chunk of the game where he appears and takes over for Emil. It honestly would be better if you had a Marta and some actual conflict with the whole "Richter is my boyfriend~" thing, because it just falls very ... flat.

Again, this isn't all your fault, but I think you should have some serious discussions with your canonmates.

That's why he gave up and let Sheena and Faize know he was sick-- he realized that continuing to hide it wasn't doing anyone any favors ( ... )

I will ask something.

I remember in your March 27 2009 post, you posted a Youtube link to a Hiro Shimono song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OGgwDZ-6bc

I want to know, what's it called? If its an anime theme or image song, where is it from?

Oh, sure! It's called "Itoshisa (or Itooshisa) ga Tomaranai," and it's an image song from the anime Nagasarete Airantou according to the description on the YouTube page. I haven't been able to track down an MP3 of the song myself, but if you do, please let me know!

Bad news is, I have NOT been able to find the MP3 AT ALL. Maybe if someone did a colleciton of Hiro Shimono's past songs, maybe we could find it.

I know what album it's from now, and I know a couple of people who might either have it or know where I can get it. I'll comment back here if I do manage to track it down.

I noticed that in a lot of your replies to problems with activity in HMDs, you tend to blame it on gmail stacking up your replies and thus you lose tags easily. Might I suggest you change your settings to accommodate that?

If you go to Gmail account settings, there is the option to turn Conversation view off. Turning it off allows you to get each email individually and not stacked. I'd suggest finishing all your tags first before doing this because it'll also consider all stacked emails as unread and you can end up with hundreds of old tags. Hopefully that solves that problem.

... anon, you are my new favorite. I've got that filter system set up now but I had no idea you could turn off stacking! That will help a lot, thank you!
