I was really and truly saddened today to hear how many people my age were not voting. many of them told me this sheepishly (i demanded to know where people's "i voted" stickers were if they weren't visible. i told them it was my personal get out the vote campaign) and some were basically like " i just don't fucking care." i have a very, very hard ( Read more... )

The resources are out there. You just need to try to find them. Even HOURS, as you say, are worth the consequences.

There is no true neutral "cheatsheet." The pros to you are someone else's cons. It sounds to me like you want the lazy way out. How is that much different than a commercial telling you who to vote for?

dude, i went online and read through everybody's views on the things that are important to me (vote-smart.com and dontvote.com) and decided from that. i spent an hour maybe two over the past week looking at stuff.

also, absentee ballots rawk.

dude, right now whats important to me is hoping i have enough money to pay my rent and feed my dog. I dont follow politics. I dont even watch the news. i wouldnt even know where to start. now that i know there are websites out there, i guess i'll try a bit harder next time... but this time around all the election meant to me was that there were really obnoxious commercials on tv and the radio, talking about things i couldnt care less about.

I cant even find the time to do things i want to do, which makes finding time to look up thinngs that i cant stand damn near impossible.

Amen, sister!! I get so sick of people complaining about things when they are not part of the process. If you don't make an effort, you have no right to bitch about the outcome. BTW...I voted and got a sticker.
