Did you mean to leave all that public? It seems a bit personal! But I am sure your father will be fine!

Oh, bloody hell, that was definitely meant to be private. Sorry about that! And I suppose so -- perhaps I should go to Professor Longbottom's office and wait for him there? That would probably be much easier for both of us.

Yes, that would probably be the best way to go! It would be easier.

Splendid. Oh, and if it happens that Lizzy and I leave for Professor Longbottom's office just as Daddy arrives at the entrance to the Slytherin common room somehow and we miss each other, do tell him that we'd just been eaten by a giant snake or something like that? It would be such a lark. But he'd kill me afterwards, I think.

I hope your father's all right, Edward. Maybe my father will do the decent thing for once and try to keep him sober instead of getting pissed with him. I think that would come as more of a surprise than the former, though. As for me, I don't know if I'm going to the memorial service. Staying in the common room with Joey sounds like it would be more interesting and less annoying with everyone crying and whatnot.

Oh, damn damn damn -- no one was supposed to read that. Thanks, darling. And, well, you know my father -- even if Zacharias Smithy tries, once Daddy's got his mind on getting pissed, he'll get pissed no matter what. I just hope he doesn't show up drunk here where everyone -- Would you be allowed to go to the service, since you're sixteen? If not, then perhaps Ernie can work something out for you.

Well, you're probably right and my father's not really one to try to stop him anyway. Stupid lush. As for the service, I'm not sure if I really want to go. He might be there and I don't want to see him under any circumstances.

I'm just going to hope that Daddy doesn't overdo it and hurt himself again, but even if he does, I'm sure he'll just wave it off as 'Oh, I've had much worse' like usual. Not a big deal in the end, I suppose. Your father need not worry too much about Daddy's well-being in that case.

You could sit far away -- I think Daddy, Ernie, and Hannah might make him sit with them if he goes.

Maybe they'll make your dad Minister.

That's not funny. What makes you think that, dear?

Oh, nothing. I just saw a bunch of flying pigs this morning.

You know, that's actually plausible in the magical world.

I don't think I will go to the service because it will be terribly SAD! And I don't like SAD things! Maybe if your father shows up pissed, it will distract from the SADNESS!

Well, it wouldn't exactly be a memorial service if everyone was lighting fireworks and blowing party-horns, now would it? And more like 'make a scene', really.

When I die, that is what I want people to do!
