I Miss EQ.

I miss it. Those 3 years I spent on nothing but EverQuest still feel worth it. I miss being in exotic places and never growing tired. Some of the feeling is just nostalgia, but these newer days just aren't offering the exotic and amazing. Unfortunately, I'm sure EverQuest isn't either (...anymore). oh man, i hate EQ now. i can't stand mmorpgs period, even though i spent two years of my life on EQ.

odd boy you are.

i can't get enough of WarCraft 3. RTS games 4 lyfe!

Well, that's the thing. I can't do it again. The memories are good ones, but it'll never feel like that again. When I think of MMORPG's now, I think of a writhing mass of scrunched-up gamers leading pathetic game-lives in which they sit and viciously camp spawn areas to receive their tiny bits of the pie. I envision whiny social circles and guilds and the mostly empty friendships within. I hate the social structure of having to rely on several others to accomplish anything, of having to split up loot that can't be split between the number of people required. Of...of...of...

I'm mostly just bitter. All the same, the potential of EQ was buried by the reality of the players.

I'd just like to play it again for another three days.

...or rather, EQ's potential was neutered to begin with by game mechanics that required all the crap.
