Pragmatic things (foodstuffs, car insurance, auto maintenance, cleaning supplies) with side orders of reading material, budget CDs, philanthropy, and hard liquor. I also have substantial medical expenses as I have an incurable chronic pain disease (interstitial cystitis) that demanded surgery and requires copious amounts of medication. I stay within my means, but that will change as I move into more lucrative jobs the older I get. I'd like to save more money so that I can give more to charity, and also invest in some good assets.
I'm a college kid, so nearly the entirety of my peon minimum-wage job is funneled into practical living expenses. When I do have the occasional jot of disposable income, I use it on art supplies or fabric, used books, and the occasional concert. I'm not comfortable with being in any kind of debt. I don't even own a credit card.
My ultimate goal, in material terms, is to design, own, and decorate a house- modest but thoroughly mine- on a very substantial piece of property.
The major ones are taxes, home-related expenses (mortgage, utilities, insurance, etc.), personal maintenance (food, clothes, etc.), job-related expenses, entertainment media (books and DVDs), and high tech toys (TV, DVD player, wireless router, game console) in that order.
> Do you stay within your means or are you in debt?
We have two incomes. Even putting in all our luxuries, we spend less than the smaller income. We have lots of credit cards and use them very heavilty because we get between 1% and 5% back on purchases, but we pay them back in full every month.
> Are material goods important to you?
Some of them. My computers are important to me, as is my home, but we have minimal furniture: I usually sit on the floor, and we sleep on a futon on the floor rather than a bed because we prefer it this way. We don't have any paintings or sculptures. I guess the functional material goods are important to me.
> I still can't really see myself developing a very high level of consumption
Anyone who says "money can't buy happiness" hasn't shopped at the Early Music Workshop of New England.
That said, I live within my means. I have no debt, am paying my way through graduate school, and have accumulated a down payment, for a hypothetical condo.
I'm a pretty acquisitive person, only I don't acquire status symbols. I acquire cool things I want to enjoy, and I generally do enjoy the heck out of them.

And this is not particularly NT-like, but I do like dressing well.
I pay off my credit card bills every month in full.
And I do put part of my paycheck into my savings account every payday.
