Such deep thoughts from my advisor. I know it to be true, but we as humans are predetermined to already make those assumptions, it's how we define other people. We define and judge them base on what group they are in. It doesn't help us Americans at all that we group up through school in cliques, and see the different popularity and race groups in television either. The view of every single person as a species instead of a race will take time, and unfortunately I doubt it will be accomplished by the end of our lifetime. Hopefully our children will be able to see the world the way we wish we could.

Michigan abolished affirmative action. One hopes that by this action, instead of people using it to point out groups that favor one group over another and saying that that's now illegal, we might learn as a whole to look at one another and judge by ability rather than color. One hopes that we as a society of fallible humans are ready for this challenge.
