☓ Name: Argilla
☓ Series: Digital Devil Saga
☓ Reference:
☓ Canon point: Post-death
☓ Age:

☓ Personality:

When the Junkyard is given the order to go to Nirvana, Argilla's motivations are to end the curse, because she wants everything to go back to the way it was. She knows that she has to kill to stay alive, as that's the way it's always been in the Junkyard. What she hates is the fact that now there is no other way whereas there might have been before, and she hates how wild and primitive it is. She hates needless killing, and she hates the fact that they're losing their humanity to chase a hunger that will never be fully satiated.

She is dedicated to those she considers her friends, and will do anything to help people she's barely just met, even when her life is on the line, shown when she goes to help Roland destroy Meganada, even though they'd only known each other a short while and hadn't exactly gotten along, knowing that she won't make it back alive.

She does not like change, especially not one so drastic as the Atma, and her greatest desire is for things to return to normal. Once she accepts that this will never happen, she does her best to make the future good for everyone, losing her life in the process. Even with the introduction of emotions, Argilla is still distant from most people, until she gets to know them very well. She is never unkind, but she is hesitant to let people that are not her friends in the Embryon close to her when she first meets them. She warms to people quickly, though, and later in the second game she develops a flirtatious streak with her comrades, especially Roland.

Argilla can be quite perceptive. When the denizens of the Junkyard first gain emotion, Argilla is the first to notice that something is different. She says that "Heat is far harsher than before. I wonder how different I seem to him...Haven't I always talked like this?" She also says something when Gale suggests allying with an enemy tribe, something that would have been unthinkable before.

Argilla's name is Italian for clay, a nod to Prithivi's chosen element. Argilla's personality was created as how Sera saw the real her - kind, and caring deeply for others. She's the Team Mom, and no matter how passionate she may get, she's always a stable and reliable support to the other members of the Embryon.

☓ Abilities:

Argilla is her team's sniper, and when untransformed a sniper rifle is her weapon of choice. She is an AI made to be a soldier, and she shows results of this exceptionally well, both in general and in her designated role.

Argilla's abilities are mostly reliant on her Avatar form. She possesses the Seismic Wave atma, which enables her to transform into Prithivi. She is the member of the team with the strongest affinity for magic. Argilla does not have to be transformed into Prithivi to use her magic - there is canon evidence for Heat not having to, and it stands to reason that the others don't have to be either. Heat's untransformed magic is weak, but it's unknown whether this is a result of his being untransformed, has to do with the fact that Agni's magic strength sucks, or a combination of both.

☓ Weaknesses:

- needs to eat people in order to prevent herself from going nuts
- takes double damage from wind-based attacks
- her pacifism almost gets her killed more than once
- prone to being blinded by her emotions due to not being used to them

☓ Strengths:

+ smart
+ extremely proficient in magic
+ passionate
+ loyal

[This device is antiquated, but computers are still computers. It doesn't take her long at all to figure out how to use it.]

...Hello? Is anyone there? Can anyone hear me?

[Without waiting for a response, she goes on.]

My name is Argilla. There are... people I need to find. If you're there, or if you know them, can you tell me? Their names are Serph, Sera, Heat, Gale, Cielo... and Roland. It's of the utmost importance.

☓ Log post sample: used for luceti, waking up in a library

Argilla opens her eyes, wearily. Her first thought is that she's dreaming with what she sees at first - a long row of books on either side of her, dusty, almost forgotten, with soft bright morning sunlight streaming through the windows. She's never seen so many books before, all in one place. She almost panics, wanting to try another of Roland's drinks. This is when he'd have one, right?

She can see out a window, barely. She sees people walking around outside - do all of them have Atma, too? Has the Karma Society gone so far? They should be stone, otherwise. It isn't... it doesn't make sense. They failed, in the end. This is her first thought, once she collects herself. Her second is to take it back. No, they couldn't have. They're strong enough to take down Angel and restore the world, the three of them, maybe even strong enough to bring back Heat and Serph. Her death was not in vain, she knows this. She's sure.

But there are doubts. She's in white, the color of the Karma Society. She still has the atma brand on her breast. She feels a pain in her back, and turns her head to try to see what's causing it. She sees wings, ones that match her hair, and they, combined with the position she's in in the corner of two bookshelves, are not the most pleasant things right then. They come as a slight relief, though - the Karma Society wouldn't waste its resources on something as frivolous as these.

She hopes the others are here, but there's only one way to find out. Hoping against hope that it's Nirvana, there's a voice in her ear telling her no, she's not there yet, this isn't it. Whatever it is, it's better than the world under the black sun. Anything is better than that. There's a break in the clouds, and she shields her eyes. This sun? It's white.

Staggering, she stands.
