Awkward

I have decided that there is something innately awkward about checking out at the grocery store. It is hard to make eye contact. Both parties are too busy keeping up with making the transaction move as smoothly and efficiently as possible that somehow the human element becomes strained and stressful

I like checking out. Which is odd, considering I'm one of the most awkward people myself, but check out guys say the funniest things. Or weirdest. One in the same, really.

they are stealing human's jobs! checking out is cool, and self checkout scares me. although, ingenious (bred out of need) college student that he is, mark has found several ways of cheating the selfcheckout robot. like buying 24 pbr for the price of a single can...

I am so anti-robot! There is this commercial that has wires that start growing like vines and it creeps me out!
I miss the days when you could call in your list and someone would bring you your groceries.

I feel like checking out is the least awkward thing about grocery stores.

p.s. I cannot believe we're still discussing the same old robot stuff after five years.

I feel like I've been vetoed (sp?) on all counts. And my humiliation all stems from the fact that this girl said, "Wow!" In a really emphatic way and I couldn't decide whether she thought I was hot or was just amazed that someone could look so uncomfortable. I'll stand my ground, I would rather kiss a robot than go through that exchange again.

Maybe I'll even fall in love with one.
