I got there early afternnon and called up Nancy to see if they were there. They were still a couple of hours away so I just went ahead and hung out with Chonky and Grant and his friends for the day. Oh and one other thing about when I was fishing on the pier.
Some of the guys just yelled "get ready here they come" and I didnt know what the hell they were talking about, then I heard a bunch of splashing coming towards us. I looked out and saw hundreds of fish literally leaping out of the water and fins behind them. It was a school of dolphins chasing large schools of fish around the pier. They ran the bally, mullet, and pompanos straight to us and I got 11 bally in one cast. The dolphins were awesome because you actually see how smart they really are wrangling all these fish to the pier and then getting them trapped near the pilings to eat. Spanish mackarel were cool looking too, but I liked seeing the shrimp schools that just looked like 6 foot long dark clouds in the water and the stingrays that were about 8 feet across.

If it was a sting ray that was 8 feet across it was probably a devil ray which is the larger species of sting ray. Looks exactly like them but with two guide arms to scoop food into their mouths that are on the frong of their bodies as opposed to on the bottom of their bodies. Sting rays predominantly swim on the ocean floor being bottom dwellers in shallow waters. Devil rays tend to swim everywhere and have been known to leap out of the water even over boats. That's where they got their name b/c fishing boaters would see them and be scared to death and call them the devil. They are scary lookin.
